Barnby Dun with Kirk Sandall
Parish Council
Is made up with five councillors from each village. The councillors are elected on to the council every four years (the next election will be in May 2007).
Meetings of the Parish Council are held both in Barnby Dun and Kirk Sandall alternatively.

Your Council Tax Bills for this year 06/07 include the parish precept of £87,100. This has stayed the same as last three years for our Parish Council. We are still however among the highest paid Parish Councils in the Borough. This its self you think is not so bad, but remember a few years ago the precept was ONLY £35,000 for the year 1996/97 then in 1997/98 it was increased to £75,000 but for what or why ?

Looking at the accounts half of the money spent goes on the "running costs" of the two halls with very little income from them? And "general administration"? also takes out a very big slice. So lets cut back on the admin and get a fairer return on the halls.

Major cuts have been made in "general administration" and the halls may come close to break even this year. More money can now be spent on the 2 villages, we hope to see more flowers, benches and better facilities.
